The present study aims at studying the probable relationship between justice perception and national identity in the youth. One of the controversial issues among philosophers, researchers and politicians is identity crises especially among the youth. Surely, progress and development in communication and information will change the people lifestyles, values and norms. If these changes cause the society with the identity crises, the society members will feel that they have lost their identity.
In this research the main hypothesis is that “however justice perception among the youth be high, their national identity will increase more.”
Independent variable is justice perception that has political, economical, esteem and cultural dimensions. National identity is dependant variable. This research was conducted by survey method and questioaire technique was used. The questioaire had 40 questions and was distributed among Tehranian youth ranging from 18-29 years old. A sample with 371 people selected and cluster sampling in several stages was choice. In north, east, west and center of Tehran some blocks, and from every block some families was selected and then was interviewed with their youth.
In this analysis, firstly, the relationship between national identity and different independent variables (perception of economic, political, cultural and esteem justice) was investigated. The mentioned relationship indicates that there would not be significant relationship between independent variables (Justice Dimensions) and cultural, lingual and historical identity. However there would be a significant relationship between justice dimensions and social and geographical dimension of identity (cohesiveness within national identity as well as feeling of being responsible in defending nation against the probable attacks or trespass).
Justice perception dimensions and political identity (the feelings of belonging and cohesiveness within national and political aspects of a society) have significant and positive relationship. The results show that political justice perception and esteem justice have significant positive relationship with religious identity while there is no significant relationship between economical justice perception and cultural justice perception with religious identity.
